Classic Curry Restaurant, on Elizabeth Street, is a casual dining restaurant that offers simple Indian dishes at affordable prices. With a family-friendly menu, Classic Curry offers specials for large groups, lunch parties, and delivery. The vegetarian thali, with three vegetarian dishes, rice, and naan, is great for a quick bite. Tandoori-based dishes abound and the tandoori mix platter, with kebab and chicken, is excellent for sharing. Remember to save room for dessert. Classic Curry's rich homemade kulfi, the beloved Indian soft-serve which comes in pistachio and mango, is absolutely delightful.

910 Classic Curry Restaurant Reviews

  • Delivery was very fast. Not sure if I'll reorder though as there wasn't much chicken in the curry and more yoghurt then spice.

  • The food tasted blend, yes it had chilli but I had to push myself to eat it as I did not want $54 to go to waste.
It tasted bad. Probably one of the worst curries I have had and I tasted cheaper curries which had excellent taste.
    Very disappointed.

The delivery was on time but that's the only good thing I can say.

  • I gotta ask, which genius decides Pappadams are good for delivery food? They always arrive broken and a complete waste of time. Then all the things that come for it are thrown away. What a waste of money. Not impressed with getting 5 pieces of chicken in a butter chicken and the packaging for the bread was bad.

  • Food was alright, but not good. Arrived late with half the curry spilling out into the plastic bag, as well as into the teriyaki chicken and naan. Because of that, the naan was soggy, as was the paper bag the chicken came in. Total mess and I feel a little ripped off, especially in terms of the lack of actual edible curry. Some chunks of chicken in the curry were also slightly undercooked.

  • I have never given any restaurant a single star and today I really feel guilty doing so because I know this restaurant can do better.

I requested Classic Curry Restaurant to deliver at home chicken tikka masala mild, plain rotis and parathas. I was glad to see the delivery guy on time but the joy was short-lived.

As soon as I opened the curry lid, I realised they have actually forgotten to pack chicken tikka. Instead they have packed oil, almost 70% of it. I did eventually found three pieces of tikka in that oil. As I was starving, I decided maybe I can prepare a roti roll with chicken and some salad but unfortunately all rotis were hard like a rock. The restaurant uses a paper bag for packing rotis instead of aluminium foil.

Being the positive person I am, I refuse to give up and decided to just have the tikka pieces but it wasn't my lucky day. Restaurant staff was kind enough to upgrade me and give me extra hot curry instead of mild. Now I was loosing my cool. I had to call the restaurant.

Over the phone I spoke with three different people as the restaurant was running without a manager or owner. Only kitchen staff and the delivery guys. No wonder the food quality so gross!

I have given this restaurant three stars because while others have give 2 or 1 star for this quality but the owners are now taking it to the next level. I have send the food sample for inspection. Hopefully it's all good but if it's not, I don't think this restaurant will be able to afford the fine or imprisonment.

    Good Luck Classic Curry!!!

  • Considering that they are in the city, and I'm in Ascot Vale, delivery was very speedy (40 mins). I ordered the Mega Pack for $50, with Korma Lamb, Aloo Mutter, and Butter (Makhani) Chicken. The Lamb was one of the best dishes I have ordered from any Indian restaurant! It was extremely tender and fabulously tasty (didn't have that waxy consistency and 'off' smell that many have had). The Aloo Mutter was very runny, and the Butter Chicken was okay (the chicken still had a lot of connective tissue attached). The samosas were tasty, with a good flavour, but they were missing the chutney/mint sauces that I am used to accompanying them. The amount of rice was (overly) generous, with enough to feed more than six people! Overall, this was a great find in the world of 'hit and miss' take away experiences.
