- Ordered the calamari and chips. Twenty bucks though! I'll spoil myself. Driver went to the wrong building. I get a call from the receptionist of the building across the road. "Your fish and chips are here... oh, he's gone." TEN MINUTES LATER he manages to make it across the road to the right place.
I WORK AT THE FRIGGING EATNOW HEADQUARTERS.
I finally get my overpriced calamari and chips and open it up to discover - not calamari. It has a faint resemblance to calamari, until you bite into it, and discover it is in fact ring-shaped, deep-fried, fish-flavoured kitchen sponge. The closest this product ever got to a real squid was that its ancestors may have been eaten (and then digested) by one. This is a $20 box of pure breaded disappointment. The chips, which might once have been fine, are cold, probably due to their extended roadtrip. There is a bonus salad, which to be fair is edible, and would have been quite nice, if I'd ordered a box of lettuce, tomato and cucumber with Praise dressing all over it. BUT I HAD IN FACT ORDERED CALAMARI.
