  • EatNow comment: We have followed up with this customer and offered her a credit to make good on our failure to meet her expectations on this occasion, to which she has responded positively. As background, her order was made on the first day that the restaurant had reopened after repairing damage caused by a kitchen fire. The closure due to the kitchen fire resulted in some turnover of kitchen staff, with new staff present on the day not yet familiar with our operations. Compounding this was a newly discovered IT system issue that could not be resolved at the time, resulting in all staff working by a manual backup system instead of our usual high tech POS system. All processes were slower than usual as a result.

    The IT system issue could not be resolved as we were also short 2 staff of our management team of 3. As background, Fusiopia is jointly owned by a husband and wife, and a friend. The husband is the IT specialist, but the husband and wife team were overseas due to the recent death of the wife's father who passed away during the closure due to the fire. The husband could have easily fixed these IT issues if he had been on site, or done this delivery in a timely manner himself, or at least managed the delivery process such that the order was delivered on time. On the day in question, the remaining manager was prioritising assisting in the kitchen as things were hectic and the urgency of this delivery also went unnoticed due to the IT system issue.

    We apologise for the late delivery on this occasion, but it resulted from a cascading, unique set of circumstances that cannot happen again. The management team is back in action and everything is running smoothly.
