EatNow blog: Dry July

We respect you Dry Julyers cause we have a great deal of respect for people who make the world a better place – plus, we also know how hard it is to forego a bevvy for 31 entire days.

So, if you’re not drinking booze this July, boy, do we have a treat for you. Here is our guide to surviving the month, which is mostly about consoling yourself with home delivery (without the booze, obviously) because it’s cold and wet outside.

Pho

Not sure if it’s technically a drink or food. Either way, your belly will thank you for warm, nourishing liquid and you’ll be so full that you definitely won’t have the urge to turn to the bottle.

Hot chocolate

Remember how we said it’s cold and wet outside? Well, it’s cold and wet outside. Do we really need to say more? Hot chocolate’s where it’s at in these arctic temps.

Non-alcoholic wine

Non-alcoholic wine is the obvious choice for those who enjoy a glass of wine with dinner. You really can’t go wrong. OK, well you might not have that fun alcohol buzz, but you’ll be hangover-free, which is always a good thing.

Ginger beer

It’s gingery and beery, and having ‘beer’ in the name definitely helps fend off those cravings cause you’re kinda tricked into thinking it’s beer. If ginger beer isn’t your thing, there’s always soft drink.

Wonton soup

Is it cheating if we have wonton soup and pho on this list? It might be, but it’s not stopping us. Another great alcohol replacement.

Kombucha

Feeling a little low? Have a cheat day. Well, not quite. Kombucha actually has a low level of alcohol in it but it’s also crazy good for you, creating heaps of happy gut bacteria. So if you want a lil kick of the good stuff, this might be the option for you.
